I am a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) in Toronto. I hold a master’s degree in Counselling Psychotherapy from the University of Toronto and a master’s degree in Women’s Studies and Feminist Research from Western University. I was clinically trained in relational-cultural therapy at Women’s College Hospital. I participate in ongoing clinical supervision with a Registered Social Worker (RSW).
I am a settler and am privileged to live and practice on the territories of the many First Nations who have lived and continue to live here including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation, Haudenosaunee, Anishnaabe, and the Huron-Wendat people. Tkaronto continues to be the home and gathering place of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. I will honour my relationship to this land and the stewards of this land.
I have benefited greatly from living on Turtle Island. I have an important responsibility to acknowledge my privilege and I aim to live and work towards dismantling systemic oppression, racism, colonialism, and white supremacy.
I practice Feminist Relational-Cultural Therapy; a model of therapy that seeks to address power differentials, the importance of healthy relationships, and socio-cultural empowerment.
Working with me
I support clients with identifying the challenges that they are experiencing and collaboratively identify areas for exploration in therapy. Feminist relational-cultural therapy holds the belief that many of our challenges, and the solutions, exist within our interpersonal relationships. The goal of this approach is to develop more growth-fostering relationships with others, and with ourselves, through the principles of mutuality, mutual empathy, and empowerment.
